Remote Hook

The remote hook, shown on the right, is rated for a 10,000 pound load and is the proper hook for a fully-loaded HB-3000 Heli-Basket. 

PURPOSE:  The remotely-controlled cargo hook, a.k.a. remote hook or simply cargo hook, is used to engage, lift, transport and release external loads off a cable suspended from a helicopter.  It is to be used as an Electrical Long Line Remote Hook!

PRODUCT FEATURES:  The cargo hook is encased by a housing plate and a cover plate bolted together.  The internal parts are made of high-quality steels that have been heat-treated and plated.  The toggle mechanism assures the positive lock of the hook, and an amplification of opening forces.

The adjustable clock spring allows the load beam to be returned automatically.  The stainless steel spring is fully protected from the elements and hazardous snags by a cap that is tapered and fastened on by four screws.  The tension can be increased or decreased as required.

The load beam with oversized throat will accomodate up to 8 eye chokers, 5/8 inches in diameter.  Throat opening is 1.4" (35 mm).  For easy service, the solenoid is removable; thus, there is no need to take the unit apart.  Removing the solenoid cover, the solenoid can be changed.

Releasing loads can be performed manually (manual release knob) or electrically (solenoid).

DESIGN FEATURES:  The cargo hook contains only 5 moving parts.  Fewer parts mean less down time and reduced maintenance costs.

Due to the simplified design and parts replacement, the remote-controlled hook is easy to service and repair during field maintenance.
