Aircraft Maintenance Platforms

Sikorsky H-60 Helicopters

Precision Lift, Inc. is the distributor for maintenance platforms specifically designed to service Sikorsky H-60 helicopters in the hanger. This includes the Black Hawk, the Sea Hawk, the Jay Hawk, the Pave Hawk, and the Fire Hawk. Our platforms are designed to form a complete H-60 fall protection system that wraps around the aircraft creating an aircraft maintenance bay.

The platform assembly on the left in the drawing fits around the forward section of the helicopter. The assembly on the right fits around the aft section. (The orange disk indicates the tail rotor of a Black Hawk. The tail rotor pylon is shown schematically in blue.) Non-slip decks and sturdy handrails allow maintenance personnel to easily and safely service the helicopter, preventing injuries from falls. Fall protection is mandated by the U.S. Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA).

Large enough to hold the entire classThe maintenance platform features fully welded, high-strength, lightweight aluminum construction. Since the forward and aft platform assemblies are mounted on wheels (6" swivel castors), the platforms are easily rolled into place next to the helicopter. Each castor locks in place to prevent movement during maintenance; and its height is adjustable to compensate for hanger floors that are uneven. The forward platform is rated for a uniform load of 4,500 pounds. The tail rotor platform will support a uniform load of 3,000 pounds.

Stairs have safety markings. The sturdy handrails are bolted in place for safety. The side handrails can be removed or folded down for ease in docking the platform and in removing the main rotor blades. Kick panels (a.k.a. toeboards) at the bottom of the handrails provide additional safety.

Skid-resistant finish on deck and sliding panels. Note mechanic working on engine behind white cooler.Safety-grip tread plate is used for all decks and stairs. Sliding panels with non-marking rubber bumpers extend out from the bottom of the main deck to the helicopter, conforming to the profile of the helicopter. The sliding panels are locked in-place with stainless steel hardware. The kick panels on the outboard side of the deck and the sliding panels on the inboard side keep tools and rolling objects on the deck from falling onto people below.

Electrical and air hose connections are mounted on the outboard sides of the platform deck area at convenient locations.
