CORPORATE PRESS RELEASE
Precision Lift launches Heli-Basket with Decon/Wash/Fire/De-ice Module Source: Precision Lift
15 October 2004 Precision Lift Inc. is currently shipping the much anticipated DWFD Decon/Wash/Fire/De-ice Module. The latest in Heli-Basket Module Technology, the DWFD provides an all-in-one effective new method for decontamination and washing of aircraft, vehicles, and equipment, in addition to providing de-icing, and fire suppression capabilities.
Asked where current deliveries are targeted, PLI president Chris Croff responded, "PLI has delivered 7 DWFD decontamination systems to the ARNG with the first deliveries going to facilities in the Eastern and Northeastern United States. We are happy with the response received from each of the units. They see our versatile decon system as a good addition to the tools they may be called upon to utilize for Homeland Security missions. I know of one unit that will be taking their DWFD module to Iraq when they deploy later this year."
Carried within the protective cage of the Heli-Basket, the DWFD is easily transported to any location by helicopter. The Heli-Basket is aerodynamically stable and it is certified as an under-slung-load system. Providing a huge convenience factor for any crew tasked with aerial transport missions, the Heli-Basket delivery system also greatly reduces FOD and brownout by minimizing rotor wash and ground effect problems -- especially when used with PLI's Electric Longline and Remote Hook and Swivel System. As a result, the Heli-Basket is ideal for DWFD transport in a broad variety of situations. This is a system that can resolve challenges in the private sector as well as with local, county and state government emergency services.
The DWFD includes an easy access control panel for full operational control of fluid pressures, temperatures, and flow rates, as well as AC voltages. Hot water, detergents, foams, bio-decontaminants (decontaminants and detergents are not included) are mixed and delivered via hose and nozzle. A multi-outlet manifold provides three different size hose connections to serve a variety of needs. This versatile rapid response module includes an 18 hp diesel engine which powers all of the DWFD's subsystems (pumps, generator, and lights).
In keeping with its multi-tasking capability, the DWFD can be used to tank-mix additives, direct inject concentrates, or tank-mix primary fluids and add post-heat secondary additives (such as wetting, foaming, or sticking agents and/or surfactants). The module's fire suppression capabilities also provide a viable alternative for quick response to fire.
In addition, six mounted multi-directional halogen lights provide illumination for night operation as well as for low visibility conditions. The DWFD's multi-task capabilities make it indispensable in many common field maintenance cleanup challenges, fire fighting scenarios, and disaster relief situations.
