Security

We are in the process of developing this website. While we take every precaution to protect our user's information, as of February 8, 2007, we have not yet implemented the Secure Socket Layer protocol with data encryption. We may do so in the future. When we have installed and tested the SSL protocol, we will post a notice to this effect on this page. At that time you will be able to see the lock icon on the bottom of Web browsers such as Microsoft Internet Explorer or Firefox when you are submitting information to us. In the meantime, if you have security concerns about submitting information on our forms, we suggest that you print the page(s), fill them out and fax them to us at (406) 236-5462.

Information Requests

Our website contains a great deal of information. The information is intended for a wide spectrum of readers. To properly answer questions we need to know who you are. For example, a person directly involved with fighting fires will be concerned with the diameter of hoses and pumping capacity, but unconcerned about the composition of fire-fighting chemicals as long as they work. In contrast, a government administrator may be very interested in the chemical composition and the environmental impacts. We will try to give you information that address your interests and needs. You are asked on the request form whether you want to be contacted by phone or via E-mail and also whether you wish to be notified of future developments via E-mail. We will respect your wishes.

Survey Forms

Our surveys of current and potential future equipment usage need reliable information. We ask for your help in supplying relevant information.

Request for Quotes

To process a request for a quotation we ask for relevant information concerning the organization and contact person asking for the quote.

Cookies

A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's hard drive, containing information about the user. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on our site. For example, by setting a cookie on our site, the user would not have to log in a password more than once, thereby saving time while on our site. If a user rejects the cookie, he or she may still use our site. However, certain password protected pages will not be accessible.

Log Files

The servers we use to run our website generate standard traffic log files. We use these files to prepare aggregate traffic statistics for our site. There is no personally-identifiable information in these log files. We use IP addresses and cookie values to analyze trends, administer the site, track user's movements and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use.

Links

Our website contains many links to other websites. Please be aware that PLI is not responsible for the privacy practices of other such sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every web site that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by the PLI website.

Mailing Lists

Our users are given the opportunity to "opt-in" to having their information used for purposes not directly related to our site at the point where we ask for the information. For example, our survey, information request, and quote request forms have an "opt-in" mechanism so users who receive information on a one-time basis can add their E-mail address to our lists. We only add users to our lists when they expressly agree to be added.

Notification of Changes

If we change our privacy policy, we will post notification of those changes on this page so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under which circumstances, if any, we disclose it. If at any point we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we will notify users by way of an E-mail. Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.
